Most of the collections are records of the American Craft Council and the American Craft Museum and are concerned with contemporary crafts in America. Included are exhibition records and catalogs, an extensive photograph collection documenting museum exhibitions, and records relating to the museum and council activities. Also, a large artists' registry consisting of photographs and biographical sketches of active craftspeople, and video tapes and audio tapes documenting the artists and their work, and records of the World Crafts Council.

Collecting area: Material pertaining to American crafts after 1945. The American Craftsmen's Cooperative Council was founded in 1943. The name was changed in 1950 to American Craftsmen's Educational Council; in 1955 to American Craftsmen's Council; in 1969 to American Crafts Council; and in 1979 to American Craft Council.
